Where we come from.

Our story begins with the soil we stand on.

Our journey didn't begin alone. From the very first steps, we were supported by visionary partners who believed in regeneration, innovation, and community. These collaborations shaped our path and gave us the roots to grow.

Cerdeira - Home for Creativity

Cerdeira – Home for Creativity is a reimagined ancient schist village nestled in Portugal’s Serra da Lousã, now serving as a sanctuary for art, nature, and cultural immersion. Its nine beautifully restored stone houses, each adorned with works by prominent artists, offer comfortable escapes blending tradition with modern sensibility. As an Arts & Crafts destination, Cerdeira invites guests to explore workshops in ceramics, woodworking, and more, while artists can participate in extended residencies supported by well-equipped studios, a gallery, and a community kiln.

Guided by a strong environmental ethos and housed in sustainable architecture, the village has received the European Eco-Label and was recognized in 2021 with the National Tourism Award for Authentic Tourism. Born from a project initiated in 2000 and officially launched as “Home for Creativity” in 2018, Cerdeira is now part of Portugal’s Aldeias do Xisto network. It stands as a unique retreat where heritage, creativity, and eco-conscious living converge into a deeply inspiring experience.

Mina

Mina is a cultural and creative hub situated in a repurposed historic building in the heart of Vila da Lousã. Rooted in heritage, this regenerated space blends storytelling, performance, and community through artistic events, debates, exhibitions, and local gastronomy.

Regrow

Regrow is a pioneering venture within the SilveiraTech ecosystem, rooted in Lousã and dedicated to transforming sustainable food and plant production. At its core, the project combines insect farming – for human consumption – with a plant nursery specializing in ornamental and forest species.

Regrow embodies SilveiraTech’s commitment to innovation, circularity, and ecological regeneration. Regrow stands at the intersection of natural systems and creative experimentation – offering a forward-thinking model for resilient, place-based production.

What exactly is Silveira Tech?

Silveira Tech Re_generation Village is revitalizing an ancient schist village and 230ha of mountain forest in Serra da Lousã, Portugal.

There we’re building the community of the future. A place for entrepreneurs, technologists, scientists, artists and students to connect, to work and to live in a regenerative way, while helping us plant trees, build ponds, and bring biodiverse forests to these beautiful mountains.

How do you combine technology with regeneration?

At Silveira Tech, we see technology not as a shortcut – but as a tool to amplify nature’s wisdom. We use data, sensors, drones, and AI to support land restoration in smarter, more precise ways. From monitoring soil health and water cycles to tracking biodiversity and optimizing reforestation efforts, tech helps us understand and respond to the land in real time.

But it’s not just gadgets and dashboards – it’s about mindset. We design systems that are open-source, regenerative, and replicable. The goal isn’t just to rebuild Silveira, but to create a model that can inspire and support other communities around the world.

In short: we let the trees do their thing – and use tech to listen better, act smarter, and scale faster.

Is this a community I can live in or join?

The village is intended for long-term stays, from 2 weeks to 9 months. For now, we have volunteering programs that can go from a few weeks to several months in which you are welcome to come and bring your skills and passion to make this project even more special. What’s your long-term vision for Silveira?

Silveira Tech positions itself at the convergence of global movements shaping future communities, blending regenerative ecology, technological innovation, and intentional living to pioneer resilient, regenerative villages.

All this within a beautiful mountain range that it’s future inhabitants will help in creating biodiverse forests and ecosystems that will thrive for centuries to come.
